#11 Plate Spinner Description: The picture is to support the following text: “… one of those spinning plates on the Ed Sullivan Show. You know what I mean? The audience applauds, the performer bows and puts a long wooden rod in a hole in the table. Then he takes a dinner plate, reaches up over his head to the end of the rod, balances the plate on the end of the rod, and rotates the rod in big circles till the plate is spinning on the end of it. Then he takes a second rod and starts spinning another plate on it. But he has to go back to the first rod and spin it some more, or the centrifugal force will be lost, and the plate will come crashing down. Then he’s got to go to the second, or it too will fall. And he starts a third plate spinning on a third rod, but he’s got to dash back to the first, and then the second, and then the third….”

| #08 Liberty Variation Caption: "Ginicomtwig Leading the People." 2006Jun - Description of Drawing Requested: It is a comic takeoff on Delacroix’s painting “Liberty Leading the People.” Limit it to 5 people, as described below. Ignore everything below the shoulders of the wounded figure in blue with the red scarf looking up at lady liberty. Move the figures closer together. In place of the wounded figure in blue with the red scarf looking up at lady liberty, have a policeman, in the same pose. In place of lady liberty, have a cheerleader with a pompom in each hand. Have her sweater torn, showing some brassiere. In place of the figure on the far left in white, to look like the "Zig Zag" - anything you can do to make him look even more like the Zig Zag man is good. Have the Zig Zag hat. Have him smoking a joint. In place of the second figure from the left, have a baseball player in baseball uniform holding a baseball bat. Keep the beard. In place of the little boy on the right, have a policeman dressed just like the other policeman. Give him a nightstick in the upper hand and nothing in the lower. Eliminate the background, except for the smoke. He’s stoned out of his mind.
Wearing graduation cap, striped tie, and holding a lacrosse goalie stick. If his feet show, he’s wearing wing-tip shoes, no socks. Other than this, he’s naked.
Effect is comic.
Either above the waist or full length is fine, whatever you think. If you show full length, better use a fig leaf. 2006 Nov update he wanted the marker plus photoshop style. Resized to 4wx5h |

Staggering like drunkards, men reeled and fell, and down in mire on hands and knees fought on." 2006Feb Description of Drawing Requested: It’s a LaCrosse game. Have 3 or more players in the pic. It’s raining unbelievably hard. The worst possible downpour. The puddles are ankle-deep on the field. The players are splashing through the puddles. The field has been ground to mud. The players slip and slide and fall down in the mud and fight on. They’re tangled up together, sprawled out in the mud full-length and/or on their hands and knees. They’re covered in mud. #04 Dragon Float on College Campus at Night
Caption: "Nearer My God to Thee." Version 1 Sep 2005 Description of Drawing Requested: DORMITORY background, COLLEGE Campus, Large DRAGON FLOAT, Rival Team pulling it down. Dragon is upright - wings folded - fairy-tale style dragon. Cheney Hall is brick building. Guy is up in a ladder in the head area - not seen. Dragon is in the process of tipping over being pulled by ropes around the base. I did a "sketched" version and a "solid" version - he chose the solid. |
